Microsoft Fails Promise Again, Misses Injunction Deadline, Office 2007 Pulled From Retail

In an IP-infringement lawsuit, Microsoft was found guilty last August of unauthorized-use of intellectual property in Office 2003/2007. The resulting $290 million verdict bars Microsoft from selling the infringing software after January 11th until removal of counterfeit technology. Microsoft Lost Intellectual Property Infringement Case in Chinese Court, Versions of Windows Banned in China

Chinese court ruled that Microsoft infringed a Chinese software maker's intellectual property, and must stop selling all PC operating systems containing the unlicensed software, effecting banning Chinese language editions of Windows 98 SE, 2000, XP, Server 2003 from China. What irony, considering Microsoft regularly campaigns for stronger intellectual property protection in China. Full Story »

Court Declares Psystar “Admitted Counterfeit” in Mac OS X Copyright Infringement Case, Apple Wins Summary Judgement – Highlights

On November 13, 2009 Apple earns important legal victory in the copyright-infringement action against Psystar, a Florida company that sells counterfeit Macs. United States District Court for the Northern District of California awarded the summary judgment win. Seven additional claims against Psystar including breach of contract, trademark infringement, and trademark dilution remain for trial. Full Story »
