iPhone again beats sum of RIM, Windows, and Android phone sold on Verizon.

Verizon iPhone 4S

Macrumors:

“Verizon today announced its own earnings results for the first quarter of 2012, revealing during the associated conference call that it activated 3.2 million iPhones during the quarter. [...]

Overall, Verizon reported sales of 6.3 million smartphones during the first quarter, meaning that the iPhone continues to represent just over half of the carrier’s smartphone business.”

That means during the quarter:

  • 3.2 million iPhone sold
  • 3.1 million BlackBerry, Windows Phone, and dozens of Android phones combined

The iPhone 4S launch held 56% of Verizon smartphone sales during the previous quarter. And that’s without the free iPhone 3GS, which is GSM only
