The celebration of Steve Jobs’ life featured performances by Norah Jones and Coldplay. There were non-musical speeches by CEO Tim Cook, head designer Jonathan (Jony) Ive, Bill Campbell, & Al Gore (member of Apple board of directors).

@larley:

That was a really moving ceremony. Norah Jones, Coldplay, Al Gore… Got choked up when they played Steve reading “Here’s to the Crazy Ones”

Norah Jones also played a cover of “Forever Young” by Bob Dylan, one of Steve Jobs’ favorite musicians:

At today’s Steve Jobs event at Apple, Nora Jones played 3 beautiful songs including a Bob Dylan cover. And Coldplay annoyed people for 4

The private, company wide event today is for all Apple employees. Even the highly trafficked Apple Retail stores were closed for 3 hours today (despite the new iPhone 4S launch) to stream the event to employees.
