iOS 4.3 Safari Javascript Benchmark Speed
Using SunSpider JavsScript Benchmark, Wired measures iOS 4.3 Mobile Safari to be more than twice as fast as iOS 4.2.1.
An iPhone 4 running iOS 4.3 completed the test in 4,340 milliseconds, and an iPhone 4 running iOS 4.2 completed the same test in 10,626.4 milliseconds (fewer milliseconds is better). That makes iOS 4.3 about 59 percent faster than iOS 4.2 with JavaScript rendering.
iOS 4.3 uses the new Nitro JavaScript engine that was created by Apple’s WebKit Open Source Project. Twice as fast performance can be seen on javascript heavy sites.
iOS 4.3 download is free and compatible with original iPad, iPad 2, iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPod touch 4G, and iPod touch 3G.
