Apple iPhone 4 Wins “Best Mobile Device” at 2011 Mobile World Congress
Apple did not attend the 2011 Mobile World Congress, but the industry trade show still judged iPhone 4 as best device of the year.
iPhone 4: “Best Mobile Device” 2011 Mobile World Congress
Apple doesn’t do trade shows anymore, not even MacWorld. So of course the Cupertino company skipped Mobile World Congress 2011. However, the mobile industry’s “must attend” event still judged that the Apple phone is better than devices from the rest of the industry.
The award for the “Best Mobile Device” went to Apple iPhone 4. Judges’ comments: “Great screen, sharp design, fantastic materials, and phenomenal ecosystem for app developers. In a tight race, the iPhone 4 built on the success of its predecessors to set the pace for smart phones.”
So much for iPhone 4 antenna gate or other non-issues. The Apple smartphone beats out RIM / BlackBerry, Microsoft, Android, and Nokia devices.
Best Mobile App: Mobile World Congress 2011
Mobile World Congress even added a new award category of “Global Mobile Apps Awards” to celebrate mobile Apps, popularized by Apple App Store. Angry Birds, an iPhone and iOS first game, wins “Best Mobile App.” So much for the FUD that Apple’s “Walled Garden” is not great for consumers. Apple should win another award for showing the world how it’s done.
