T-Mobile Ad: Verizon Slows Down Apple iPhone 4
T-Mobile copies Apple’s iconic but long retired Get a Mac commercials again, this time makes fun of Verizon, the new CDMA iPhone 4 carrier.
T-Mobile Ad: Verizon Slows Down Apple iPhone 4
T-Mobile U.S. shows Verizon and AT&T both as 2 feeble PC wearing different ties, and advertises that its own network is better.
T-Mobile vs. Verizon + AT&T
Ok, we have to support Verizon iPhone here (OMG!?)
U.S T-Mobile network actually uses an unusual GSM frequency, so almost any unlocked 3G phone, even the iPhone 4, cannot access the full T-Mobile 3G. Thus, the commercial lies to hint the Apple iPhone is slowed down by Verizon, because the technology of T-Mobile U.S. limits iPhone 4 and other standard GSM phones to 2G EDGE speed on its network. Translation: T-Mobile brings us back to the future, with 2007 iPhone 2G equivalent mobile service.
By the way, CNN: 4G network is a lie.
I have a question…are you then denying that the iPhone 4 on Verizon is faster then a Tmobile G2 on… well Tmobile?
In theory, Verizon and T-Mobile got similar speed networks.
In practice, most GSM phones from around the world only work on EDGE speed on T-Mobile US. Well GSM phones don’t even work on Verizon so that T-Mobile might have an EDGE on that.
