Microsoft race-swap photoshop fail

Yes, we know that Microsoft and Celebrity don’t really belong in the same sentence. But how can we resist at a story that highlights Microsoft fail AND internet user photoshop satire win?

Microsoft Business Software Site

Microsoft’s often use Macs in images on its web site, always with the Apple logo removed. As seen here on the Microsoft Optimize Business Productivity Infrastructure site, the white laptop is an Apple MacBook (Apple MacBook has all ports on the side for easy access, no ports in the back).

The Microsoft U.S. business software website shows three business people, one black, one white, and one asian.

The same photo on Microsoft’s site in Poland, however, was photoshopped with a white man’s hand transplanted over the black man’s body.

The black man’s hand was unchanged. Typical lack of attention to details by Microsoft. (Hit “start” to shut down, anyone?)

Note that they kept the Asian guy.

Microsoft has since delivered an apology, pulled the race-swapped image from Microsoft Polish site, and replaced it with the less modified U.S. version.
